Video Update:  6-11-14: So we had to take a week off cause I was super busy at work ☹ but that's over so training has began again. We are working hard to get our freestyle pattern but she’s still having trouble listening to the bit so we keeping working that. In this video we worked on control and circles in a big arena. she did pretty well. We also have a set back with trailer loading...she really doesn't want to go in anymore. So we now have more to work on.

Picture Update:  6-11-14: This week we have been working on freestyle and scary things that might show up at finals like bridges and tarps. We also had a booboo and had to taking some time to patch that up. All in all a good week. She is really starting to come into herself. I’m getting really proud of her!!!

Video Update:  5-25-14: It has been a big week for kaydance... First she went from the round pen out to the big arena then even on her first trail ride. We have also been working on lots of ground work such as blind trust exercises along with some little jumps and better leading. Another thing we have gotten better with is the fly spray as she has always disliked that. She now stand quietly while getting sprayed.

Video Update: 5-14-14: Kaydance did really good this week. She went out to the big pasture and got to enjoy time with her friends after getting a cold. Then we had our first real trim from the farrier. She was amazing!! She stood better than I thought she would. We got a really good ride on her ... first at the walk and trot but we also got the lope as well for a couple of strides which went really well. After that we went to play in the creek and she had a great time swimming around.

Picture Update:  5-14-14: Kay did really well this week lots of new things happened. first we went out to the big pasture with friends. Next was a first real trim. Which she rocked! after that we got a really nice ride with the walk, trot, and lope. We did some bombproofing with balls, pool noodles, feed bags, and a mattress. nothing scared this little girl!!

Video Update:  5-7-14: Kaydance is taking things slow as I have been very busy... but she also got a small cold which has put us back a little bit. So in this video we are learning how to use the lunge line and respond to voice cues. as you can see its still a work in progress.

Picture Update:  5-7-14: We have been working on the round pen still and working the lunge line, which is still a work in progress, but we are slowly coming along. we have been doing lots of ground work while waiting for new equipment to get here. First we worked with swinging ropes second with feed sacks but mostly picking up and getting hoofs picked which we just figured out.

Video Update:  4-30-14: This video is working kaydance in the round pen. It was a new place for her and she kept getting distracted with the other horses and grass in the pen. She is very driven by food except she does like any treat... go figure. We are working on voice commands and trying to do it with out any other cues. We will get there soon I’m sure.

Picture Update:  4-30-14: This week was kinda a slow one for Kay. we mostly worked on round penning with and without the saddle on... We have been working on voice commands which is getting much better. We started working with a lunge line which confuses her a little bit but she worked it out. She also got to go out and play in the big pasture and meet some bubbies which I think she had been missing.

Video Update: 4-23-14: So we have been working on lifting her feet and being able to hold it for the farrier. which she is doing really well with. She also has been doing much better under saddle, So I tried getting on again. It went much better this time around!!! she is starting to figure out that I'm not scary in the saddle and she doesn't have to run or buck with me up there. We also have been working on swing ropes around her head. she doesn't seem to mind much.. We have been really working on voice commands as well when working in the round pen.

Picture Update: 4-23-14:
In the pictures is me working Kay in the round pen with her saddle on, getting her used to moving in the saddle. Then its a picture of our first successful ride which went well. my friend basically did a pony ride for us and kept a close eye on her to make sure she didn't buck which made everything go super smooth.

Video Update: 4-17-14: So we had a set back with the saddle, so we are back to having her run around with the saddle on and also doing more ground work. we have also started on picking up all four feet and standing for the farrier. Kay is a quick learner and picks up what I ask of her really quickly so I'm sure we will get there in no time!!! we are also working with other people to teach her so she's just not listening to me and that went very well!

Picture Update: 4-17-14:
My mom came up to meet Kay this week she is also one of my sponsors. my mom is not a horse person but she immediately fell for this little sweetheart of a horse. Kay also went to meet my gelding for the first time. which she didn't seem to mind even though he is twice her size lol. we worked on a lot of ground work this week and round penning to get her back into the saddle to try and ride her she's just not quite ready yet but we will be back on soon I'm sure of that!

Video Update: 4-2-14: In this video it was "Miss Kay's" first time with a saddle on. She did such an amazing job. She took that saddle like a champ. She acted if nothing was on her back. Kay was able to move around and feel the saddle on her and it didn't scare her one bit! Kay acted as if she had been saddled many times before. Right now she is not having people on her until she gains some much needed weight so we are sticking to the basics but with the saddle on.

Picture Update: 4-2-14: It was kind of an exciting week for Kaydance... first we went to college and played around in the indoor arena, where she got ponied around by her buddy Gunnar. Then we went for a trail walk down to the creek to play in the water. Kay did awesome at the creek she doesn't like puddles but she loved the creek!! Over the next couple of days she went back to the college and was saddled for the first time. She was a rock star with the saddle. Didn't scare her one bit.  We also tried on blankets to see what size she will be needing... I was totally surprised to find out it was much smaller than I was expecting. Kaydance also got to meet a sheep this week, as I was hoping it could be her new buddy but she did not like the sheep at all!! After that it was a check up from the vet to make sure she was nice and healthy, apart from the much needed weight gain, she was given the all clear.

Video Update: 3-26-14:
I took Kaydance to a different ranch today to go through the scary obstacle course! she did awesome I rubbed her down with a feed sack and a pool noddle and she didn't jump once. She had a quick lesson in how to send around myself and objects but she picked it up very fast and by the end of the day she was able to do everything I tossed at her. she even did the teeter totter which my broke horse wont go over all in all I feel we got somewhere today.
